Conference on the Shroud of Turin

Aug 14-17, 2019

The goal of the 2019 International Conference on the Shroud of Turin is to summarize and evaluate the large amount of research that has been done on the Shroud and to encourage continual studies on the Shroud.  A broad range of academic topics will be covered in the conference including science, history, philosophy, theology, and sociology to provide insights into the nature of the Shroud and its impact on society. Plenary speakers include Russ Breault, Joe Nickell, Joe Marino, Bob Rucker, and Barrie Schwortz.  Workshops and poster presentations will also be included.  Held at Redeemer University College in Ancaster. Lunch and Music, Motion and Memories:   For caregivers and their loved ones with memory loss.  This event is held at Light on the Hill Community Church.  We enjoy fellowship together with lunch and then move onto a music, singing, balance exercises, line dancing, bells and lots of fun memory work.  This program was designed by an Occupational and Music Therapist to improve memory and balance through enjoyable activities.  Most importantly it is a wonderful way to connect with others on this journey. There is a scientific name for this call PERAT (procedural emotional religious activity therapy). DIVORCECARE

DivorceCare is a support group for men and women that have been divorced or separated and are contemplating divorce. Whether you have divorced for many years or just recently, this group provides a comfortable, friendly setting for you to be able to share in your experiences.  Each week, a different topic associated with the pain and trauma of divorce is addressed, followed by group discussions on that topic.  Many people have found healing through this support group and feel empowered to rebuild their broken lives and live out their destiny.

DIVORCECARE FOR KIDS

This 13-week program sees a group of children and their adult leaders hear stories about other kids in this situation on a DVD video each week. Together we do theme related crafts, games, and we hear scripture and Bible stories.
